We all know that the best way to make sure that are assets go where we want to after we pass away is by making a will. Well, what should people who are getting divorced be doing about this issue? If it’s a contested divorce with litigation involved, that means that it is going to take time until you are divorced. For this reason, I usually suggest to my clients that they make a new will while they are getting divorced, which then gets amended after the divorce to take into account assets that weren’t accounted for in the divorce period will.
